Hong Kong windsurfing team won 2 silvers and 1 bronze at the 19th Asian Games

Hong Kong windsurfing team won silver medals in Women’s iQFOiL and RS:X with Ma Kwan Ching and Charlie Ngan Wai Yan respectively, while Cheng Ching Yin won bronze in Men’s iQFOiL, marking the 9th consecutive time that Hong Kong windsurfing team completing on the podium and increasing the total number of medals to 6 gold, 15 silver, and 2 bronze at the Asian Games.

Representing Hong Kong,China for the first time in the Asian Games, Ngai Wai Yan had a tough battle with Thailand’s Siripon Kaewduang-Ngam in the Women’s RS:X of the Hangzhou 19th Asian Games. After 14 races, Ngai Wai Yan ranked 1st for six times and 2nd for eight times, with a net score of 20 points, just 2 points behind Thailand windsurfer and won a silver medal for Hong Kong. For Men’s RS:X, 21-years-old Au Ling Yeung finished the race in 5th place.

For the iQFOiL categories, Ma Kwan Ching and Cheng Ching Yin ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively after 18 races. As the Medal Race scheduled for the last day of the event could not be held due to insufficient wind, the final results were based on the preliminary positions, resulting in two Hong Kong athletes winning silver and bronze medals each.
